Portugal is a country located on the Iberian Peninsula in south western Europe, bordering Spain.
It is the most western sovereign state of mainland Europe. Portugal also consists of the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira, which are located in the Atlantic Ocean. It is a member of the United Nations and the European Union, and a founding member of the NATO, the eurozone, the OECD, and the Community of Portuguese Language Countries.
As it covers almost the whole west coast of the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal has a variety of landscapes, with green mountains in the north, spectacular slopes and falls in the middle, and a near-desert landscape in the south. Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Lisbon (L, D)
On your arrival to Lisbon Airport Meet & Greet service by our representative and depending on the arrival time transfer by private coach for lunch or to check into your hotel. Check in and refresh at the hotel, rest of the day is free for leisure to explore the city on own. Dinner at Indian Restaurant included. Overnight stay in Lisbon.
Day 2: Lisbon (B, L, D)
Enjoy a half day panoramic & walking tour of Lisbon a city that has been colonised by many civilizations along the centuries - Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthagiaians, Romans, Moors then the Portugese. Photo stop at St George Castle, Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Fort and a visit its famous quarters such as Alfama, Chiado and the Downtown.
Day 3: Lisbon - Sintra - Cascais - Lisbon (B, L, D)
Enjoy a full day excursion to the coast and the World Heritage Site of Sintra for a guided tour. Photo stop at Pena Palace then the journey continues to Cape Roca, Colares and the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. Visit the picturesque and charming town of Cascais for a short walk before returning to Lisbon via the coastal road of Estoril.
Day 4: Lisbon - Fatima - Nazares - Porto (B, L, D)
Start the day with a guided walking tour of Obidos, a magnificent medieval walled town with cobbled stones and amazing scenery. Next stop is at Nazares on the coast followed by a visit at Fatima's Sanctuary, the site where Our Lady of Fatima appeared in 1917, attracting millions of pilgrims thanks to its mystical strength! Overnight in Porto.
Day 5: Porto (B, L, D)
Visit the World Heritage site of Douro Valley where the famous Port Wine is grown, visit a vineyard and try some wine before riding a train along the valley. Return to Porto for a guided walking sightseeing tour to see São Bento Railway Station and the historical centre with its palaces and cathedrals. Some free time for leisure and shopping.
Day 6: Porto (B)
Breakfast included at the hotel, then check out and transfer to Porto Airport for group's departure.
